Duke University
Hello! I'm Alfredo.
I am an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Duke University and the Executive Director of the Transformative Ideas program at Duke. I received my PhD in philosophy from UNC Chapel Hill. I did my undergraduate work at UCLA. My main areas of research are in ancient philosophy, political philosophy, and philosophy of science (especially philosophy of mathematics).
My research focuses on Plato's views on international relations while putting him into dialogue with his contemporaries, especially Thucydides and Xenophon. I am also interested in the philosophy of science, with a special focus on Aristotelian philosophy of mathematics.
