Hello! I'm Alfredo.

I'm the Arete Postdoctoral Fellow at the Kenan Institute for Ethics at Duke University. I received my PhD in philosophy from UNC Chapel Hill. I did my undergraduate work at UCLA. My main areas of research are in political philosophy, ancient philosophy, and philosophy of science (especially philosophy of mathematics), with further interests in medieval philosophy and PPE.

My work on political theory focuses on questions of justice, power, and empire, with particular focus on applications to international relations. In the realm of philosophy of science I am especially interested in neo-Aristotelian metaphysics and its applications to contemporary science and mathematics.
